Pool resurfacing

Pool Resurfacing in Las Vegas

A rough, stained or etched surface makes a pool harder to keep clean and less comfortable to swim in. A new finish fixes both, and we'll help you choose the right one for your pool and budget.

Signs it's time to resurface

  • The surface feels rough or snags swimsuits and feet.
  • Stains, mottling or dark patches that don't brush or treat away.
  • Etching, pitting or exposed gray patches where plaster has worn thin.
  • Hollow-sounding or flaking areas, called delamination.
  • Cracks in the surface, or water loss that traces back to the finish.
  • Algae that keeps returning to rough spots no matter how well the water is kept.

Prices depend on pool size, shape, steps and benches, and whether tile or coping is replaced at the same time. The cost guide explains the main factors.

How resurfacing works

  1. Inspect and quote. We check the surface, look for cracks and leaks, and help you pick a finish.
  2. Drain the pool. The pool is drained according to local guidelines for where pool water can be discharged.
  3. Prepare the surface. Old, loose material is removed and the shell is prepared so the new finish bonds properly. Cracks are repaired.
  4. Apply the new finish. The surface is applied and finished, along with any tile or fitting updates.
  5. Refill and start-up. The pool is refilled and the water is carefully balanced during the start-up period, which matters a great deal for how the new surface cures and looks.

Las Vegas water and new surfaces

Hard water and strong sun are hard on pool surfaces. Water that's out of balance can etch new plaster, and high calcium can leave scale and staining. That's why start-up care is so important in the first weeks after resurfacing. Keeping chemistry steady over the long term, which is what weekly service does, protects your new finish.

Fix the leaks first

Resurfacing is the right time to fix anything under or around the surface. If your pool has been losing water, we recommend leak detection before resurfacing, so plumbing, light niche or fitting leaks are repaired while the pool is empty. Small cracks and loose tile can be handled through pool repair as part of the same project.

Pool resurfacing FAQ

How long does resurfacing take?

It depends on the pool size and finish chosen, and weather can affect the schedule. We'll give you a timeline with your quote.

Can I resurface without changing the tile?

Yes, if the tile is in good condition. Many owners update the waterline tile at the same time, since the pool is already drained.

Is there a good time of year to resurface in Las Vegas?

Mild spring and fall weather is easier on new surfaces and on scheduling. Summer work is possible, with extra care for heat during application and curing.

Do you build new pools?

No. We focus on servicing, repairing and resurfacing existing pools.

Will a new surface fix a leak?

Only if the leak is in the surface itself. Leaks in plumbing, lights or fittings need to be repaired separately, which is why we test for leaks before resurfacing.
